Welcome to Rising Tide Barbers, where the art of barbering meets the spirit of surfing. I'm Darren Lundquist, a lifelong surfer with a deep passion for art and an eye for detail. At 32, I've spent over half my life teaching others how to ride  waves as a surf instructor , sharing my love for surfing with thousands of students since I was 15.

Seven years ago, I discovered another passion: barbering. The precision, creativity, and personal connection involved in cutting hair felt like I'd found yet another creative outlet similar to surfing. .

After learning how to cut hair and working at a couple other shops briefly, I started Tofino Barber at the very end of 2018 and had the very special opportunity to create what was essentially the only barbershop in a town of 2500 people and run it for several years before selling it and embarking on a journey outside of Tofino.

Barbering has brought a new level of optimism and fulfillment to my life. It’s not just about the perfect cut; it’s about the connection with each client, making them feel their best and I can't wait to unlock the potential in others to start their own journey!
